Where Computers and Investigations Come Together!
Mission: Data Triangle was created to provide affordable , expert data recovery and computer examination services
Security, Storage and Back-up
The best defense is a good offense. Data Triangle provides a wide array of services to help you create and maintain a network that is both HIPAA compliant and protected in the event of a hardware or software failure. We can help you set up your network, automated back-ups and remote storage (especially useful in the event of a catastrophic event).
Even if you are just talking about a home computer, storage and back-up is vital. Setting up external storage can cost as little as a couple of hundred dollars, compared to $800 to recover data once it is lost. (Do you really want to tell your wife that you “lost” all of the baby pictures?)
Data Recovery
Too often, people fail to back-up their data until it is too late. The good news is that, many times your data can be recovered, especially if your hard drive has not completely died. The three most common problems are: 1) software issues that prevent Windows from booting, 2) power supply goes bad and the computer will not turn on, and 3)the circuit board gets fried. All of these can happen without warning, but the data can almost always be recovered.
Please note that attempting a recovery on your own, especially if it is a hardware problem, can turn a $200 recovery into an $800 one, and can cause more of your data to be completely lost.
Computer Forensics
Computer forensics is the application of computer investigation and analysis techniques to gather digital information/evidence. A computer forensic examiner can help you:
Find out what is deleted on your computer
Determine when a file was last viewed and/or modified and by whom
See who was looking at what on the internet
Un-erase data
Crack or recover lost passwords
Decrypt encrypted data
Information on a computer that is going to be used as evidence in a civil or criminal proceeding must be handled in a particular manner. Do not, under any circumstance, boot up the computer and try to log on once the computer is seized as this will destroy valuable evidence. A Certified Computer Forensic Examiner has special tools that will enable him to gather the evidence without corrupting the data.
